My name is Steve Thompson and I am the mechanic and owner of Car Valet Mechanics.
I don't have much to say because I am a mechanic, not a writer, however , my wife is insisting that I tell
you something about our business.
What makes us different from a lot of workshops is that I am the person you will talk to when you drop
off and collect your car and I will also be the person working on your car. The other members of staff
include Vicky, our 4th year apprentice and my wife Jude who does the books.
I open from 7am each weekday. I can work on all makes and models, including 4WDs and light
commercials. If your car is having problems I will ask you questions like ‘when does it happen; how long
has it been doing this; what noise do you hear’ etc. YOUR story helps me understand the problem. I
will give you an estimate of the price before I repair it and how long I will need your car for and I will
show you the parts that I repaired and explain what I did. I am happy to answer any of your questions.
Some repairs involve the services of other auto repairers such as auto-electricians, EFI and DIFF
specialists, locksmiths and upholsters. We don't send you away to sort that out, we call them in.
And for your convenience we can look after your tyres, wheel alignment and safety certificates.
I am familiar with the stories of customers being ‘ripped’ by other mechanics. I have owned this
business now for six years and I still have customers from the previous owners and our first customer
from day one. I am aware how important customers are: you have the ability to recommend me or
drive business away from me. As your mechanic, you will judge me on my honesty, my pricing and my
diagnostic and repair skills. I only have one chance with every customer and I pride myself on getting
this right every time.
Cheers
